Springtime in a University Park neighborhood
|
Officers and members of the Board of Directors are elected
at the Annual Meeting in the fall.
University Park next to the University of Floirda campus
is an active and attractive community. Our residents include longtime
homeowners and dedicated newcomers who share a commitment to traditional city
living. Many walk their children to a neighborhood school, walk to their jobs
on campus, and meet with their neighbors to discuss and influence city
policy.
A strong University Park Neighborhood Association and a
responsive city government have combined to make the University Park
Neighborhoods a stable and attractive place to live.
University Park includes
the area north of the University of Florida to Northwest 16th Avenue. The
area includes neighborhoods known as College Park,
Florida Park, Forest
Park, Hibiscus Park, Palm Terrace and adjacent neighborhoods.
The south section of the area includes neighborhood
businesses that target both the university and the neighborhood. The next few
blocks are apartments mixed with single-family homes. A few blocks to the
north, single-family living begins.
The single-family area includes homes from the early 1900s
to newly built homes. These homes are richly landscaped with native southern
trees and plants. A canopy of ancient live oaks, magnolias, pines and other
large trees makes the neighborhood attractive and refreshing. A dazzling
display of flowering plants such as azaleas, dogwoods and redbuds makes
springtime in University Park unforgettable.
